In 2025, FOX sold 10 of its 30-second Super Bowl commercial spots for over $8 million each.
Super Bowl commercials don’t come cheap.
Since the first championship game in 1967, the price of these primetime ad spots have continued to increase. The 2025 Super Bowl already made history when FOX announced that the going rate for 30 seconds of air time was $7 million. The network broke its own record when 10 of those spots went for over $8 million, per CNN.
“We still have a pretty robust football calendar yet to come, culminating in our broadcast of Super Bowl 59,” Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch said in a November 2024 call with investors, according to Sportico. He added, “Sorry to say, we are already sold out, and at record pricing.”
2025 Super Bowl ads ranged from $7 million to over $8 million for a single, 30-second commercial, according to CNN. This price tag comes out to over $250,000 per second for the most expensive 30-second ads.
The million-dollar-plus price jump came after Murdoch confirmed in November that FOX was “sold out” of ad slots. Because some companies opted not to use their Super Bowl time, some high-demand spaces became available in January.
A few brands that have confirmed Super Bowl airtime include Pepsi, Coors Light, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Uber Eats, Squarespace, Coffee mate and Stellantis.
FYI: How much did the first Super Bowl commercial cost?
Super Bowl I aired in 1967.
Because the event didn’t have near the viewership and prestige it does today, advertisement spots were a little more affordable at a rate of $37,500, per Forbes.
